I have designed for myself a little challenge. This challenge is to create an emoticon, or .gif image. These are ones that move in some way; the file structure has multiple frames that cycle through at a set rate, that makes your little picture look like it’s moving. Same premise as a cartoon!
Anyway, I love these little things, and I love working with digital images. I can’t make them, yet, but I heartily intend on learning. I have no drawing or painting skills by hand, but I find that by using digital media, such as Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks, or any of those, that I can at least combine images or alter existing ones. I find that it is a surprisingly fun thing to do!
I know that whilst I am sick, this is probably going to take three times longer than otherwise, but hey, I’m sitting around relaxing anyway! I have to figure out what I want to create, perhaps a cute knitting emote! A knitting cat! That’s what I want to make. There, decided on that. So, then I just have to study an existing one, and figure out how many frames I will need to make, and so on and so forth. It is all pretty darn exciting. I hope to have an entire set one day, all my own.
Now, as for today’s knitting pattern… It has to be something a bit groovy, and have a graphic edge. So I am linking to a Wonder Woman styled jumper. I know, that sounds a little odd, but it is actually very cool. I would consider altering the basic shape of the jumper if you have a womanly figure, as this is a basic men’s style jumper. My mother actually used to knit me jumpers with pictures on them… one was two children standing on a hill flying a kite. The other was a scene from a book I liked, ‘I only have to close my eyes’ with all sorts of wonderful stuff going on in the picture. I wish I still had those, but maybe it is time to make my own!
